DC came up with another amazing phrase in the chatroom the other night. We were talking about service, and how and who we might serve. I guess you all realise that service to others is a part of the spiritual life – some would say the major part.
DC was talking about how he chooses who to serve. He said that he is there to help advanced seekers, and that working with those much less advanced would not be helpful to them, and hence waste of time and energy. In fact, in the essays he points out that it may even be harmful. He reminded us that we also have to pay attention to those we choose to serve. That was when he said “accept your placement in the foodchain of consciousness.”
In the wrong place, everyone starves, nothing works, it is of no benefit to you or anyone else. In the right place, everyone is used efficiently, everyone is fed what they need to be fed.
