Ok, so, depending which psychology you like, my body/brain has the qualities of a six on the Enneagram, an INFJ on Myers-Briggs, a Piscean with Scorpio Rising, and several other things besides. Knowing and understanding these facts has been very helpful in developing and rounding out the personality, and in getting to know and love its lumps and bumps. Personality typing is a very valuable tool in fostering self-awaareness, as well as in more mundane matters (such as choosing a satisfying job).
Knowing these measurements will tell you a great deal about the preoccupations of my body/brain, my persona, but very little of value about my Self.
Self is not defined or measured, labelled or boxed up.
It is necessary to remember that language and assumptions influence how our body/brains limit themselves. If we wish to actualise the Self, no internal limitation can be permitted.
The important thing is that I am aware of this. So often we can trick ourselves into accepting limitation through a cute and helpful belief system, rather than taking what it has to give, and realizing the limitations of the belief system itself.
