Following our discussion in the closed chatroom last night (details on how to join in), We decided that this weeks exercise would be to use our body/brains to replicate sensory experiences. Some suggestions:
- recall tastes of food
- recall smells of food (Food seemed to figure largely!)
- recall pictures of places we have been
- recall body sensations, e.g. warmth, cold, touches
- recall pleasant and unpleasant feelings
In the room we talked about how we got started in our awakening process, and looked for the common factors which might be of help to those following the same exercises.
We agreed that separating out Self and body was the key, and tiring. DC said that this was because we were moving from being passive to living the Active Self, which causes the body/brain to expend a lot of energy at first.
Juxta had a wonderful phrase, saying that the psychology he learned at university – he majored in that subject – was “dream management.”
