I have just spent an absolutely glorious morning, and I would like to tell you about it.
I woke up a little later than usual, and had a cup of tea in bed with my wife. She then went out with a visiting daughter, and I spent a wonderful hour or so wrapping up a couple of presents for two dear friends of mine, and writing covering notes. I then picked up next door’s dog, an unruly Labrador who never gets enough exercise, and walked with him into the village, where I posted my gifts off. The dog and I then continued to an ancient chapel school on the moors which has been converted to a cheap and cheerful cafe for walkers, cyclists etc., where I drank some more tea and the dog demolished a couple of sausages and a small quantity of furniture.
How is it that I can be so content today, while so many in the world are suffering?
