A picture on the blog (I/i) a few days ago showed an old low tunnel. On an old beam across the ceiling were the words, crudely painted “Mind Your Head.”
It reminded me of the warning over a similar tunnel, leading to the underworld, that Dante faced:”Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here.”
That, in turn, reminded me of a part of Corvus’ Poem (now in the Shiny Objects Blog) “For Those Who Are Called.”
“Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here” sounds more like a formula for surviving the journey through the underworld, than a warning to avoid it altogether.
What choice do we have, after all?
